It is pretty important that you have a good level and flat surface when aligning and welding the frames together, there are basically two methods in putting the frames together. 1. is to drill, tap and bolt the frames together, 2. is to weld. If you decide to weld ensure you clamp the frames together tightly and don't make prolong welds, otherwise you will distort the frames. The method I used is to'stitch weld', and this seem to work ok. The reason for the welding choice is mainly due to a couple of gentlemen told me that they had scrwed and bolted the frames and some of the screws actually unscrewed and jammed within the motion of the loco. For this reason, I kept things simple and welded the frames together.
